Isidra & Elizabeth's Story
Isidra: "All my friends call me Izzy. I have been a long time resident of Summit County and grew up here after migrating from Mexico in 1997. DACA opened doors for me that I believed would never be accessible. I was able to get a job to start paying for college and also help my parents with living costs. I currently work with two non-profit organizations in the county. I am a billing specialist with the Summit Community Care Clinic and took on the role of program coordinator with The Cycle Effect. I am currently working on a Bachelors degree in Sustainability at Colorado Mountain College as well."
Elizabeth: "I first received DACA in 2013 and have re-applied every two years till now. Having DACA takes away a bit of fear. It has allowed me to obtain a job that I truly have passion for that I would not be able to have without DACA. I am a Behavioral Health Navigator Lead at the Summit Community Care Clinic. My job is truly a blessing as it allows me to have benefits like insurance to take care of my health while allowing me to grow within my area of interest, Thank you"
Isidra: "Todos mis amigos me llaman Izzy. He sido residente del condado de Summit durante mucho tiempo y crecí aquí después de migrar de México en 1997. DACA me abrió puertas que creía que nunca serían accesibles. Pudo conseguir un trabajo para comenzar a pagar la universidad y también ayudar a mis padres con sus gastos. Actualmente trabajo con dos organizaciones sin fines de lucro en el condado. Elizabeth:"Recibí DACA por primera vez en 2013 y he vuelto a solicitar cada dos años hasta ahora. Tener DACA me quita un poco de miedo. Me ha permitido obtener un trabajo que realmente me apasiona y que no podría tener sin DACA. Soy líder de navegador de salud conductual en Summit Community Care Clinic. Mi trabajo es realmente una bendición, ya que me permite tener beneficios como un seguro para cuidar mi salud mientras me permite crecer dentro de mi área de interés. Gracias. "
