Immigration Legal Services Program
Every day, families in our mountain communities live with the fear of family separation. When a loved one is detained by ICE or faces deportation, the consequences ripple far beyond the individual; children lose parents, employers lose trusted workers, and our community loses neighbors and friends.
MD’s Immigration Legal Services Program supports the community with legal services provided by MD staff, collaboration with trusted immigration attorneys, and through our Legal Defense Fund.
Mountain Dreamers is Recognized & Accredited by the Department of Justice to provide immigration legal representation to low-income residents. Our “Accredited Reps” can provide legal advice and services on many immigration matters, including DACA, green cards, U-visas, and more.
Mountain Dreamers’ Legal Defense Fund provides financial support for low-income immigrants facing deportation so they can hire qualified immigration attorneys to represent them in court. In our immigration court system, if a person cannot afford a lawyer, one is not provided for them free of charge. Our fund is also used to pay the very expensive US government filing fees for immigration applications.
Your support of our LDF helps us fund immigration legal defense, DACA applications, advocate for citizenship and inclusion; and educate, inform, and inspire others to build a community where every family belongs.
