HISTORY

Mountain Dreamers was founded in June 2018 as a volunteer group of immigrants and non-immigrants working together to share the stories of local immigrant families with the community.

Today, we have offices in Frisco and Eagle, where we provide free services and grassroots advocacy for local immigrant clients.

Our work includes:

  • Immigration Legal Aid — Supporting DACA recipients, asylum seekers, and their families in obtaining work permits and legal status. To date, we’ve distributed over $300,000 in support.

  • Driver’s License and Tax Assistance — Helping immigrants apply for Colorado’s standard driver’s license/ID and file taxes, including obtaining Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs).

  • Community Advocacy — Local and statewide efforts to improve access to affordable housing, protect renters and mobile home park residents, access to equitable public transportation, combat wage theft and labor trafficking, and more…

  • “Oso” Outdoor Equity & Inclusion Initiative — Breaking down barriers and increasing access to outdoor recreation for immigrants, non-English speakers, and people of color- BIPOC.

  • In September 2023, “Newcomers” Integration Program — Providing support and transitional shelter for newly arrived migrants who entered the U.S.A. in the last 3 years.

  • In July 2024, Intercultural FREE English Classes — English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction combined with cultural exchange, where non-English speakers learn both language and culture with the support of native English-speaking volunteers.
